A type of scissors used to quickly and safely cut through strong materials such as rugs and boots in which a horse may become tangled; also useful for cutting thicker bandaging materials needed in equine wound/injury management
Consist of a plastic handle with a metal blade, which is bent at about 150 degrees, giving an unusual appearance compared to normal scissors, and also a longer “lever arm”. The wide, blunt tip on the shears is designed to slide across skin, minimizing the risk of injuring the horse while cutting bandages etc.
Designed exclusively for external use only and are not suitable for use on tissue/wounds.
